I must be mad but I have signed up to a challenge set by another writer on the platform vocal.media. It is, as the title suggests, to write a story every day in 2024.
I am engaging in this as I think that it will be good writing practice, first and foremost and because all stories must be between 300 and 366 words. This is not a significant writing commitment and I felt like it might be achievable on top of everything else that I do! I also thoroughly enjoy microfiction – it’s fun and it’s like providing a snapshot of story rather than the whole thing.
I like the constraints; I like the challenge; I like the creating.
